KBB’s team of experts take a look at some of the hottest Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) on the market today. Featuring cars from Hyundai, Honda, Toyota and Chevrolet, we compare them side-by-side to see what they have to offer. Which one would you plug in?

Prius prime if I can then make it look like a normal Prius.

“Normal” Prius?

I’d rather walk. Someone should create a video where all these get lit on fire.

I want a Volt so badly. My commute to work is 8.5 miles (17 miles-ish round trip not including anywhere I roam on lunch break). I could go ages without using any gasoline.

I would take a Volt

There are other options out there, maybe not for the same price though

Did it win the comparison? I didn’t watch the video.

I sat in a Clarity at the most recent auto show and it was very...normal. Looked like a normal car, was comfortable, wasn’t too expensive. The Volt seems great, too, but is just a little too goofy looking. Let’s not talk about the Prius.

Yeah but I like the Volt. I’ve always liked its styling (both generations) and it fits car seats well. And it has horrid depreciation, making used models very cheap.

but you posted it

Only watched the Honda Clarity part because it’s brand new, wasn’t interested in the rest.

i went blind after seeing the Prius part so....

I didn’t watch the video but I’m a big fan of the Volt theory of using the gas engine just to generate electricity and using just an electric motor to drive it.

Wait where did that come from?

Germany?
Nah it wasn’t in this test but if I were to consider any currently offered plug in that’s what I would go with.

Oh didn’t know there was a GLC plugin

Yup! GLC350e

So I opened the Car & Driver article to read up on the GLC350e and I immediately came across these gems:
It’s a Cult, I tell ya

they’re a bunch of assholes who literally did not give one shit about cars until Tesla showed up and now they pompously strut around acting as though they know everything they need to know about the industry.

Go to Youtube and read the comments on any electric car or any self driving car videos not just Tesla related. It literally makes you rage and your blood pressure shoot up.
Here’s a fine example where they invaded Cadillac’s channel.

first rule of YouTube comments is you don’t read YouTube comments.

I can’t help it man. It’s like a train wreck combined with a massive highway pileup; you want to keep looking.

It’s almost as if any fan base has more than a fair share of dumbfucks.

part of the depreciation drop is due to the tax credit and when a new gen is announced.

I wish they’d drink some Jim Jones Kool-Aid.
On what planet is a Model X sexy? It’s a big egg-shaped minivan with flamboyant doors and 1980s build quality.

the volt in my driveway
Only qualm I have is that there can be huge variation in electric range and mileage depending on outside temp, inside temp, driving conditions, and driving speed. The really have to drive them at the same time, on the same route.
electric range 0 F, 35miles, 30F 49 miles, 50F 53-55.
Mileage, 0 F 28mpg, 30F 38mpg, 50F 42-52
Also speed, @40mph best so far was 68 miles range with a few left over, @65 you’ll get a perdicted 53miles.

True. Even the new (2016 and up) Volts are going for pretty good prices now.
